Record Store Day 2015 is coming up on April 18, and several country artists, including Dolly Parton<\/a>,\u00a0Willie Nelson<\/a> and Blackberry Smoke<\/a>, among others, will be releasing their music on vinyl as part of the celebration.<\/p>\n

Parton\u2019s The Grass Is Blue<\/em><\/a>\u00a0album, originally released in October of 1999, is being re-released for Record Store Day 2015, its first time as a vinyl issue. The project helped turn bluegrass into a popular musical genre during the early 2000s. It includes original songs by Parton, as well as folk and bluegrass standards; a cover of Billy Joel<\/a>\u2018s \u201cTravelin\u2019 Prayer\u201d is thrown into the mix, too.<\/p>\n

The Teatro<\/em><\/a>\u00a0album was released by Nelson in September of 1998, after being recorded in an unconventional location: an old movie theater in Oxnard, Calif. The project includes songs written by Nelson \u2014 many of which are re-recordings of songs he wrote and recorded in the 1960s \u2014 and features backing vocals by and duets with\u00a0Emmylou Harris<\/a>.\u00a0Teatro<\/em>\u2018s Record Store Day 2015 special edition \u2014 the record\u2019s first time issued on vinyl \u2014 will be pressed on gold vinyl and feature a deluxe gatefold \u201ctip-on\u201d uncoated jacket; only 5,000 copies will be pressed.<\/p>\n

Blackberry Smoke\u2019s\u00a0Wood, Wire and Roses<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>Record Store Day special release features songs from their newest album,\u00a0Holding All the Roses<\/em><\/a>, in acoustic form, as well as a cover of Tom Waits<\/a>\u2018 \u201cOld Shoes (& Picture Postcards).\u201d<\/p>\n

Among the other country Record Store Day 2015 releases are records from\u00a0Chris Stapleton<\/a>,\u00a0Asleep at the Wheel<\/a>,\u00a0Gregg Allman<\/a>, Chet Atkins<\/a>, Steve Earle<\/a> and the Dukes, Johnny Cash<\/a> and the Everly Brothers<\/a>, among others. As previously mentioned,\u00a0LeeAnn Womack<\/a> will celebrate the big day with a limited-edition three-track record<\/a>,\u00a0while Elvis Presley<\/a>\u2018s first-ever recording<\/a>\u00a0will be made available on vinyl by Jack White<\/a>\u2018s Third Man Records.<\/p>\n
