{"id":675,"date":"2013-07-15T16:08:58","date_gmt":"2013-07-15T22:08:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kske\/?p=675"},"modified":"2013-07-16T22:25:41","modified_gmt":"2013-07-17T04:25:41","slug":"aspensnowmass-to-host-espns-winter-x-games-through-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kske\/articles\/aspensnowmass-to-host-espns-winter-x-games-through-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Aspen\/Snowmass To Host ESPN\u2019s Winter X Games Through 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><br \/>\nBy Regan Dickinson, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/ski-and-snow-report-in-denver\/regan-dickinson\">Examiner.com<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>ESPN\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.aspensnowmass.com\/\">Aspen Skiing Company<\/a>\u00a0have reached an agreement that will keep the Winter X Games, the world\u2019s signature action sports event, in Aspen\/Snowmass through 2014.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cESPN is thrilled to extend its relationship with Aspen Skiing Company, the City of Aspen, Pitkin County and Town of Snowmass Village for two more years,\u201d said Scott Guglielmino, senior vice president of programming and X Games. \u201cAfter 11 fantastic years of world-class competition and progression in Aspen, we\u2019re delighted to move into the new phase of X Games growth towards a global youth and lifestyle brand with one of our most long-term and valued relationships.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Winter X Games originally rotated on a regular basis. The inaugural event was held in Snow Summit Mountain Resort, Calif. (1997), then it moved to Crested Butte, Colo., for two years (1998-1999) before moving east to Mount Snow, Vt.
