Frisco is offering residents a way to put their Christmas trees to good use after the holiday season, inviting people to drop off their old trees to fuel the Spontaneous Combustion bonfire in January.<\/p>\n
On Dec. 26 the town of Frisco will begin accepting Christmas trees at the Frisco Bay Marina dirt lot, at the corner of Summit Boulevard and Marina Road, hoping to ignite the trees in the annual Spontaneous Combustion Community Bonfire.<\/p>\n
Trees must be stripped of all lights and decoration prior to drop of. Only real trees will be accepted, and the tree drop off will be open 24 hours a day through 4 p.m. on Jan. 26.<\/p>\n
The Spontaneous Combustion Community Bonfire is fueled by recycled trees in the B1 Parking Lot at the entrance to the Frisco Bay Marina. The bonfire will begin at 6 p.m. on Jan. 26, and there will also be a fireworks show starting at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
Additionally, there will be chili and beverages for sale to benefit the Summit Nordic Ski Club, which has been providing access to Nordic skiing to the county’s youth for nearly 50 years.<\/p>\n
