{"id":791673,"date":"2019-01-02T09:18:15","date_gmt":"2019-01-02T16:18:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=774039"},"modified":"2019-01-02T09:18:15","modified_gmt":"2019-01-02T16:18:15","slug":"man-drops-concert-shooting-lawsuit-against-meek-mill-live-nation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/music-news\/man-drops-concert-shooting-lawsuit-against-meek-mill-live-nation\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Drops Concert Shooting Lawsuit Against Meek Mill, Live Nation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/meek-mill-lawsuit-dropped.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"\/><\/div>\n<p>The man who sued <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/meek-mill\/\" id=\"auto-tag_meek-mill\" data-tag=\"meek-mill\">Meek Mill<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/live-nation\/\" id=\"auto-tag_live-nation\" data-tag=\"live-nation\">Live Nation<\/a> after he suffered a gunshot wound outside the rapper\u2019s concert has dropped his lawsuit against both parties.<\/p>\n<p>Two men, Jaquan Graves and Travis Ward, were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/two-killed-in-shooting-outside-meek-mill-concert-in-connecticut-117479\/\">killed<\/a> and at least two more injured after gunfire broke out in the parking lot following Meek Mill\u2019s Wallingford, Connecticut concert on December 30th, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The estates of Graves and Ward both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/meek-mill-roc-nation-sued-by-murdered-concertgoers-family-200454\/\">sued<\/a> Meek Mill, Live Nation and the Oakdale Theatre as did Dylan Thomas, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2018\/01\/18\/meek-mill-sued-fan-shot-concert-shot-gun\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">claimed he was shot in the leg<\/a> during the incident outside the venue and filed his own lawsuit in January 2018. However, <a href=\"https:\/\/theblast.com\/meek-mill-concert-shooting-victim-drops-lawsuit\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">the Blast reports<\/a> that Thomas recently filed legal paperwork to dismiss his claims.<\/p>\n<p>It is unclear why Thomas, who accused Meek Mill and Live Nation of allowing \u201cthugs\u201d on the concert premises, had dropped his lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>The wrongful death lawsuits filed by both the Graves and Ward estates are ongoing, with the Blast noting that the families have offered to settle for $6 million. Meek Mill had denied all claims that he should be held accountable for actions outside of his concert.<\/p>\n<p>In July 2018, over 18 months after the incident, Connecticut police arrested two men, 23-year-old Kyle Hampton of North Haven and 33-year-old Tivon Edwards of New Haven, on charges of first-degree manslaughter related to the shooting outside the Meek Mill concert.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/concert-shooting-lawsuit-meek-mill-774039\/\" target=\"_blank\">via:: Rolling Stone<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The man who sued Meek Mill and Live Nation after he suffered a gunshot wound outside the rapper\u2019s concert has dropped his lawsuit against both parties.
