{"id":791752,"date":"2019-01-04T15:47:18","date_gmt":"2019-01-04T22:47:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=775239"},"modified":"2019-01-04T15:47:18","modified_gmt":"2019-01-04T22:47:18","slug":"here-are-the-most-streamed-songs-of-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/music-news\/here-are-the-most-streamed-songs-of-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Here Are the Most-Streamed Songs of 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/streaming-is-lopsided-post-malone-and-drake.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"\/><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/drake\/\" id=\"auto-tag_drake\" data-tag=\"drake\">Drake<\/a> and rap were big winners when it comes to streaming singles in 2018, according to year-end data on on-demand audio and video streaming from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/buzzangle\/\" id=\"auto-tag_buzzangle\" data-tag=\"buzzangle\">BuzzAngle<\/a>, an analytics company that tracks music consumption.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Drake enjoyed the most-streamed single of the year, \u201cGod\u2019s Plan,\u201d and was a presence in four of the top ten (\u201cIn My Feelings,\u201d Travis Scott\u2019s \u201cSicko Mode\u201d and Blocboy JB\u2019s \u201cLook Alive.\u201d) Meanwhile, just five tracks <em>without<\/em> a rapper on them appeared in the top 25: Camila Cabello\u2019s \u201cHavana,\u201d Ariana Grande\u2019s \u201cThank U, Next,\u201d Ed Sheeran\u2019s \u201cPerfect,\u201d Imagine Dragons\u2019 \u201cBeliever\u201d and Bazzi\u2019s \u201cMine.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In addition to Drake \u2014 who also has \u201cNice for What\u201d and his feature on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/migos\/\" id=\"auto-tag_migos\" data-tag=\"migos\">Migos<\/a>\u2019 \u201cWalk It Talk It\u201d in the top 25 \u2014 the big winner was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/post-malone\/\" id=\"auto-tag_post-malone\" data-tag=\"post-malone\">Post Malone<\/a>. \u201cPsycho,\u201d \u201cI Fall Apart\u201d and \u201cBetter Now\u201d were collectively streamed over 1.5 billion times in 2018.\u00a0 (BuzzAngle incorporates tallies from Apple, Spotify, Apple, Google, YouTube and Vevo.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Some songs achieved an impressively high rank on the year-end list with remarkable speed. Scott\u2019s \u201cSicko Mode\u201d earned 624 million streams in just five months, while 6ix9ine and Nicki Minaj\u2019s, released only a few weeks before, also amassed almost 579 million streams. But no song racked up streams more quickly than Grande\u2019s \u201cThank U, Next,\u201d which accumulated 451 million in less than two months, growing even faster than \u201cGod\u2019s Plan.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Finally, examining the top streamed songs shows the importance of collaboration for artists hoping to achieve big numbers. Seven of the top ten tracks in 2018 included featured vocalists.
