The \u201cTake Me to Church\u201d singer explores his full vocal range throughout the organ-fueled track, moving from warm crooning to a feathery falsetto.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a statement about the session, which also includes a live take on his 2018 single \u201cMovement,\u201d Hozier detailed how he decided to cover the 1999 single.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cDuring rehearsals for the recent tour, the band and I would throw around a few progressions and grooves while on break now and then,\u201d he said. \u201cWe fell into this bass line and just started singing the Destiny\u2019s Child classic over it. I was enjoying the new arrangement and, as we jammed, I found that every member of the band had something sweet to offer it. It was also one of those great tunes that had found it\u2019s way onto the bus playlist, so it felt right to pay our respects to Destiny\u2019s Child and perform \u2018Say My Name\u2019 for the Spotify session.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cMovement\u201d is set to appear on the singer\u2019s upcoming second LP, <em>Wasteland, Baby!<\/em>, which he co-produced with Markus Dravs (Arcade Fire, Coldplay). The record follows his recent <em>Nina Cried Power<\/em> EP, which includes the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/hozier-mavis-staples-nina-cried-power-fallon-746961\/\"><span class=\"s2\"><strong>title-track<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0featuring Mavis Staples and Booker T. Jones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Hozier will promote the new record on a 26-date <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/hozier-2019-north-american-tour-767010\/\">North American tour<\/a> launching March 10th in Buffalo, New York and wrapping April 14th in Spokane, Washington.
