Phoenix<\/a> have apologized for collaborating with R. Kelly<\/a> in 2013, writing on Twitter, \u201cWe are deeply horrified by the stories of abuse surrounding R. Kelly.\u201d R. Kelly and Phoenix partnered twice in 2013. First, the R&B singer joined the French group on stage at Coachella<\/a>, while later in the year they released a remix<\/a> of Phoenix\u2019s Bankrupt!<\/em> single, \u201cTrying to Be Cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Twitter, Phoenix continued, \u201cWe regret that we were not both more informed and more discerning when we worked with him previously. We fully support all victims of sexual abuse, and it\u2019s our hope that there will be a path to justice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Phoenix are the latest outfit to apologize for working with R. Kelly following the bombshell docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly<\/em>. Early Thursday morning, Lady Gaga issued<\/a> statement in which she said she stood by all sexual assault survivors and expressed regret for working with R. Kelly on her ARTPOP<\/em> track \u201cDo What U Want (With My Body)\u201d (they also performed the song on Saturday Night Live<\/em> and at the American Music Awards). Gaga also noted in her statement that \u201cDo What U Want\u201d will be removed from iTunes and \u201cother streaming platforms.\u201d<\/p>\n

The final episode of Surviving R. Kelly<\/em> also featured a portion of an interview \u2013 originally conducted by Cassius<\/em>\u2018 Jamilah Lemieux \u2013 in which Chance the Rapper said he made a \u201cmistake\u201d<\/a> when he recorded \u201cSomewhere in Paradise\u201d with R. Kelly.<\/p>\n

Surviving R. Kelly<\/em>, which aired last week, includes interviews with several women, who have accused the singer of sexual assault and abuse. The documentary has prompted authorities in Chicago and Atlanta to begin investigating<\/a> the claims of abuse against the singer.<\/p>\n
