The sparse instrumental puts all the focus on Tank\u2019s erotic lyrics. But as the action heats up, the singer\u2019s tone stays cool \u2014 except for one jump into falsetto, he could be reading aloud from his grocery list.<\/p>\n<p>Tank has amassed a long string of R&amp;B radio hits since he made his debut as a solo act in 2001. He\u2019s also worked as a writer-producer for other artists, including Keyshia Cole, Letoya Luckett, Jamie Foxx and Omarion.<\/p>\n<p>Generally commercial success decreases as artists age, but Tank has avoided that fate \u2014 he\u2019s actually experienced the opposite. \u201cWhen We,\u201d released in June 2017, became his first-ever platinum-certified single last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou become a 42-year-old R&amp;B singer and everybody says, \u2018You\u2019re old, start doing as many shows as you can with Frankie Beverly and call it a wrap,&#8217;\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulture.com\/2018\/03\/how-a-veteran-r-and-b-singer-made-the-biggest-hit-of-his-career.html\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Tank said in 2018<\/a>. \u201cWe didn\u2019t want to give up. We wanted to keep changing the perception of where R&amp;B can live.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With \u201cDirty,\u201d Tank hopes to reach the same fans who helped \u201cWhen We\u201d achieve over a million copies sold. The singer co-wrote both tracks with J. Valentine. Both tracks were produced by Cardiak, better known for his hip-hop credits (Drake, J. Cole, Dr. Dre).
