El Pomar Trustees has announced approving $190,000 for 10 nonprofit organizations spread out across the High Country, including some that work out of Summit County. Through the foundation’s grant processes, the following organizations were awarded:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Keystone Policy Center \u2014 $10,000 to support the Colorado High Country Sustainability Collaborative<\/p>\n
\u2022 Summit County Mountain Mentors \u2014 $10,000 toward their mentoring program<\/p>\n
\u2022 Lake County Build a Generation \u2014 $75,000 in general operating support<\/p>\n
\u2022 YouthPower365 \u2014 $30,000 over three years to support the PwrHrs extended learning program<\/p>\n
\u2022 Mountain Valley Health Centers \u2014 $25,000 for the new Basalt Integrated Health Center<\/p>\n
\u2022 Mountain Valley Horse Rescue \u2014 $25,000 for the direct care of equines<\/p>\n
\u2022 Eagle Valley Land Trust \u2014 $5,000 in general operating support<\/p>\n
\u2022 Eagle County Historical Society \u2014 $5,000 to preserve the Hannewald Barn<\/p>\n
\u2022 Advocates for Victims of Assault, Inc.\u2014$2,500 in general operating support<\/p>\n
\u2022 Catholic Health Initiatives of Colorado Foundation\u2014$2,500 to support home health and hospice services<\/p>\n
El Pomar Foundation was founded by Spencer and Julie Penrose in 1937. In an effort to increase the impact and connections across the state, a Regional Partnerships program was established in 2003, and each of the foundation’s 11 regional councils advises El Pomar Trustees and recommends grants to help support the community. The High Country Regional Council recommends grants in Clear Creek, Eagle, Lake, Pitkin, and Summit counties.<\/p>\n
