Sharon Van Etten<\/a> performed her impassioned new song \u201cSeventeen\u201d<\/a> on Wednesday\u2019s Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The singer-songwriter, decked out in a sharp red suit, stood stationary on the stage \u2013 one hand clutching the microphone, the other holding a pair of maracas that she shook on the song\u2019s chorus. Over piano washes, whirring synthesizer and a muted tom-tom groove, she built a dynamic vocal \u2013 from soft early lines to a frantic scream in the final verse.<\/span><\/p>\n

Van Etten also performed \u201cYou Shadow,\u201d adopting more of a twangy tone over a loping groove laced with fuzz guitar and bright organ chords. Both tracks, along with the recently issued \u201cJupiter 4\u201d<\/a> and \u201cComeback Kid,\u201d<\/a> appear on her upcoming LP, Remind Me Tomorrow<\/em>, out January 18th.<\/span><\/p>\n

The singer will promote Remind Me Tomorrow<\/em> on a 33-date world tour<\/a>; a North American leg\u00a0<\/span> launches February 6th in Washington, D.C. and concludes March 1st in Los Angeles, California, followed by a run of European dates throughout March and early April.<\/span><\/p>\n
