Greta Van Fleet<\/a>\u2018s debut album Anthem of the Peaceful Army<\/em><\/a> has garnered a divisive response with comparisons to Led Zeppelin, but it\u2019s also brought the Michigan rock outfit four Grammy nominations. \u201cThese are some of the first songs we ever released,\u201d frontman Josh Kiszka told Rolling Stone<\/em>.<\/a> \u201cSo it\u2019s kind of shocking. I didn\u2019t expect us to get any nominations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ahead of the upcoming awards show, the band became the first artist to play\u00a0Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in 2019, bringing their 1970s rock ethos to Studio 8H.<\/p>\n

Introduced by SNL<\/em>\u00a0host<\/a> and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel<\/em> star Rachel Brosnahan<\/a>, Greta Van Fleet kicked off their live set with a return to their beginnings by playing an impassioned rendition of \u201cBlack Smoke Rising,\u201d the title track of their 2017 debut EP.<\/p>\n

Later the group returned to the stage to perform the second single from their first record, \u201cYou\u2019re The One,\u201d in which Kiszka and his guitarist twin brother Jake shared the mic to duet the rock ballad\u2019s soaring chorus.<\/p>\n
