The track opens with an synth pulsing over the tinny crack of old-school electronic drums. Andrew Whiteman sings lead on the track, his soft croon lending poignancy and depth to the song\u2019s simple, yet mesmerizing, hook, \u201cAll I, all I, all I want\/ All I want is you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em>Let\u2019s Try the After \u2013 Vol. 1<\/em> is available to <a href=\"https:\/\/brokensocialscene.lnk.to\/LetsTryTheAfterVol1\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">pre-order<\/a> and follows Broken Social Scene\u2019s 2017 album, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/review-broken-social-scene-roars-back-unto-the-breach-121913\/\"><em>Hug of Thunder<\/em><\/a>. In a statement, bandleader Kevin Drew said of the project, \u201cThe point is to keep going. We have more to give. These songs have lived beside us and become our commencement party while continuing together. We hope you enjoy this EP for you and me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Nyles Spencer produced and mixed\u00a0<em>Let\u2019s Try the After<\/em>, except for the cut \u201c1972,\u201d which was helmed by band members Charles Spearin and Joe Chiccarelli. Last week, Broken Social Scene <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XrV14ujN4pw\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">premiered<\/a> \u201c1972\u201d and another new track, \u201cCan\u2019t Find My Heart,\u201d on the CBC program,\u00a0<em>The Strombo Show<\/em> (\u201cCan\u2019t Find My Heart,\u201d however, won\u2019t appear on the EP).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Broken Social Scene have also announced a pair of 2019 concerts: Two shows at the Corona Theatre in Montreal May 21st and 22nd, and two at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles June 5th and 6th.
