A-Basin chief operating officer Alan Henceroth described recent skiing in a small portion of that terrain expansion, The Bald Spot, in a post on his A-Basin blog on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Henceroth said that The Bald Spot is a short yet gnarly new ski run below and west of the bottom of The Beavers chairlift. He compared it in size and steepness to the ski area&#8217;s Lower Alleys terrain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">&#8220;The deeper the snow,&#8221; Henceroth said on his blog, &#8220;the better the skiing is over there. Now that our base is over 50 inches deep, the skiing is getting really good. Friday, it was spectacular.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Henceroth also said that after skiing the Bald Spot, skiers can access the bottom of the new Beavers lift via a short and easy five to 10 minute boot-pack hike.
