Luis Fonsi is apparently open to new versions of his 2017 hit single \u201cDespacito.\u201d The Puerto Rican singer appeared on The Tonight Show<\/em> to discuss his hometown and his new album Vida<\/em>, and took the opportunity to hilariously rewrite the song\u2019s lyrics alongside host Jimmy Fallon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After noting that \u201cDespacito\u201d has six billion views on YouTube, Fallon said, \u201cThat\u2019s unbelievable.\u201d \u201cI know,\u201d Fonsi replied. \u201cThat\u2019s like my whole family watching over and over and over.\u201d Fallon then invited Fonsi to \u201csee how the song would sound with totally different lyrics, random ones that we made up, just to see if it still sounds cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

Accompanied by the Roots, Fonsi and Fallon experimented with potential alternative versions of the song, which included an ode to a \u201cFlaming Hot Cheeto\u201d and a rendition about Jared Leto in a white tuxedo. The finale version, sung as a duet, was the best one:\u00a0\u201cTiny Speedo\/Old man tanning in a tiny Speedo\/I think he needs to be way more discrete-o\/This whole beach can see his little pepito\/Tiny Speedo.\u201d<\/p>\n

During his interview, Fonsi spoke to Fallon about Puerto Rico, as well as his former\u00a0doo-wop a cappella group, which also featured Joey Fatone pre-*NSYNC. \u201cIt was called \u2013 wait for it \u2013 The Big Guys,\u201d Fonsi confirmed. \u201cI know. I cannot make this up. But our teacher just named us The Big Guys so we couldn\u2019t really change it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fonsi, who also performed his single \u201cImpossible\u201d on Fallon, will release Vida<\/em> on February 1st. The album includes two versions of \u201cDespacito!\u201d as well as\u00a0\u201c\u00c9chame la Culpa\u201d and \u201cCalypso.\u201d<\/p>\n
