A list of the nearly 700 participating U.S. theaters is available at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fathomevents.com\/events\/diana-ross\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Fathom Events website<\/a>; international cinemas and ticket sales will be announced at a later date.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Steve Bender-directed <em>Diana Ross Live in Central Park<\/em>, issued on DVD in 2012, documents the vocalist\u2019s two-night performance at Central Park\u2019s Great Lawn in New York, New York, which was originally broadcast on Showtime and staged to raise money for a children\u2019s playground. Nearly a half-million people attended the first date on July 21st, 1983, which was cut short by a massive thunderstorm, and she rescheduled the show for the following night.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A trailer for the film shows Ross staring down the storm and telling her audience, \u201cWe\u2019re gonna get wet \u2014\u00a0that\u2019s OK.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI envisioned a dream, and that\u2019s what I created over those two days in Central Park. I picked a goal, and then imagined all the details,\u201d Ross said in a statement. \u201cI believe imagination is magical, that we can think of something and bring it into being.\u201d Fathom CEO Ray Nutt called the screening the first part of a \u201cyear-long celebration\u201d honoring Ross.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The singer will celebrate her birthday with a special <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/diana-ross-2019-grammy-performance-787437\/\">performance at the 2019 Grammy Awards<\/a>, scheduled for February 10th.
