The song has an orchestral backdrop, an easy tempo and dreamy, Fifties-style backup vocals \u2014 it all sounds a bit similar to Cave\u2019s music (thanks to the humming organ in the background) \u2014 as Sloman and Cave tell the story of a big-spirited woman at a wedding. In an uncharacteristically short statement, Cave said, \u201cI\u2019m proud to be a part of this record.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sloman, age 70, has long lived on the periphery of the music world. Over the years, he has worked with Lou Reed, John Cale and Leonard Cohen; he was once <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/bob-dylan-and-friends-on-the-bus-like-a-rolling-thunder-233962\/\">Rolling Stone\u2019s<\/a><\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/bob-dylan-and-friends-on-the-bus-like-a-rolling-thunder-233962\/\">r<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/bob-dylan-and-friends-on-the-bus-like-a-rolling-thunder-233962\/\">eporter to cover Bob Dylan\u2019s Rolling Thunder Revue tour<\/a>. He has also written memoirs for Howard Stern, Anthony Kiedis and Mike Tyson. It was Joan Baez who nicknamed him \u201cRatso\u201d on Dylan\u2019s tour for his scrappy appearance. He\u2019ll be a talking head in the upcoming Netflix doc, <em>Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Sloman\u2019s debut album, <em>Stubborn Heart<\/em>, features eight originals \u2014 including tunes he cowrote with Cale, for whom Sloman once wrote the lyrics to \u201cDying on the Vine\u201d \u2014 and a cover of Dylan\u2019s \u201cSad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands.\u201d It also features guests Warren Ellis, Sharon Robinson, Yasmine Hamdan and Imani Coppola, among others. Sloman\u2019s friend Vin Cacchione (Soft Black, Caged Animals) produced the LP.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverything about this project was fun,\u201d Sloman said in a statement. \u201cAnd it was always about the songs. They had been lying dormant since 1984.
