{"id":792796,"date":"2019-02-06T17:28:00","date_gmt":"2019-02-07T00:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/number-of-applicants-for-opening-on-breckenridge-town-council-grows-to-seven\/"},"modified":"2019-02-06T17:28:00","modified_gmt":"2019-02-07T00:28:00","slug":"number-of-applicants-for-opening-on-breckenridge-town-council-grows-to-seven","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/local-news\/number-of-applicants-for-opening-on-breckenridge-town-council-grows-to-seven\/","title":{"rendered":"Number of applicants for opening on Breckenridge Town Council grows to seven"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The field of candidates for the open seat on Breckenridge Town Council has almost doubled since Monday with some time remaining to apply before Thursday&#8217;s deadline.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">With three more people coming into the fold since Monday, the seat vacated by Elisabeth Lawrence after she was appointed to become a Summit County commissioner now has seven interested applicants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The new applicants are Mindy Brewer, a former teacher who owns a small property management company; Jonathan Enns, a local real estate pro; and Hal Vatcher, a retired IT professional.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">They join Jessica Morse, Steve Gerard, Leigh Girvin and Emily Wahl, who all submitted their letters of interest on or before Monday, in the pool of potential replacements to fill Lawrence&#8217;s vacated seat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Anyone still interested in the open council seat has until 4 p.m. Thursday to send a letter describing his or her interest in the position, experience and background.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Candidates should be ready to attend regular council meetings on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month and have a demonstrated commitment to the town.
