The legendary singer was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Before Ross took the stage, an Alicia Keys-narrated video package highlighted Ross\u2019 varied, successful and still strong career. Ross\u2019 grandson took the stage to introduce her, giving a spirited speech. Ross came out in a huge red gown to begin belting \u201cBest Years of My Life\u201d as her family sang along in the audience. She followed the ballad with her debut single as a solo artist, 1970\u2019s \u201cReach Out and Touch (Somebody\u2019s Hand).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ross\u2019 Lifetime Achievement Award is her only Grammy win, although she was nominated for 12 awards from 1965 to 1983 \u2014 both as part of the Supremes and as a solo artist. Just a few days prior to her Grammy appearances, the singer launched her latest Las Vegas residency, titled <em>Diamond Diana<\/em>. It will run until February 23rd.<\/p>\n<p>On Ross\u2019 actual 75th birthday, March 26th, nearly 700 theaters will show\u00a0<em>Diana Ross Live in Central Park<\/em>, a concert film documenting her stormy two nights of performing at Central Park\u2019s Great Lawn in 1983. The film was first issued on DVD in 2012. A second screening of the concert film will air on March 28th.
