Guitar virtuosos<\/span> Rodrigo y Gabriela<\/span><\/a> announced a short U.S. tour for this spring. The 12-date trek will begin May 4th at Melody Theater in Austin, where the duo will perform a set for Austin City Limits Live. The guitarists will then make their way up the East Coast, capping off the tour with a June 8th set at Cleveland\u2019s LaureLive festival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rodrigo y Gabriela will release their first album in five years,<\/span> Mettavolution<\/span><\/em>, on April 26th. The pair are known for their dueling style of acoustic guitar playing, influenced in equal parts by rock, metal, and flamenco music.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new album, produced by Dave Sardy (Oasis, LCD Soundsystem), will feature nods to the duo\u2019s thrash-metal upbringing in Mexico City. It will also include a<\/span> cover<\/span><\/a> of Pink Floyd\u2019s classic \u201cEchoes,\u201d taken from the band\u2019s 1971 album<\/span> Meddle<\/span><\/em><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/em>Rodrigo y Gabriela also revealed a Floyd-inspired video for the 19-minute tribute, which is available to stream<\/a> on YouTube.<\/span><\/p>\n
