In an new interview<\/a> with Japanese music critic Maso Ito, Slash<\/a> says that Guns N\u2019 Roses are contemplating the creation of a new album. \u201cAxl [Rose], Duff [McKagan], myself and [guitarist] Richard [Fortus] have all talked about\u2026 there\u2019s material and stuff going on already for a new record,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s just, with Guns N\u2019 Roses, you don\u2019t go, \u2018Oh, there is a plan, and it\u2019s gonna be like this,\u2019 because that\u2019s not how it works. So, basically, the only real answer to give is we\u2019re hoping to put a new record out, and we\u2019ll just see what happens when it happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

There hasn\u2019t been a new Guns N\u2019 Roses album of any sort since 2008\u2019s Chinese Democracy<\/em>, and the last time that Axl created original music with Slash and Duff was 1991 when the two Use Your Illusion<\/em> albums landed. The three core members of the band did put aside their differences in 2016 for the highly lucrative Not In This Lifetime<\/em> tour. \u201cThe band was great, the fucking entourage, the crew, the whole production was just like this really great marriage of people, and we just all had a really good time,\u201d said Slash. \u201cAnd the fans were amazing. So I\u2019m really happy that it happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

They didn\u2019t preview any new songs on the tour, though Slash did put his unique signature on eight Chinese Democracy<\/em> songs, including \u201cBetter,\u201d \u201cThis Is Love\u201d and \u201cThere Was a Time.\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s fun playing them,\u201d Slash told Rolling Stone<\/em> in August.<\/a> \u201cThere\u2019s nothing weird about it. It\u2019s not like I\u2019m playing something out of my comfort zone. I\u2019m very conscious of maintaining the integrity of the recording, but still doing it in a way that I would approach it.\u201d\u2018<\/p>\n
