Ariana Grande<\/a> easily captured Number One, her second trip atop the Billboard 200 in six months, as the singer\u2019s Thank U, Next<\/em><\/a> opened with 360,000 total copies, the best sales of Grande\u2019s career.<\/p>\n

Of the 360,000 haul, 116,000 came from traditional album sales, with 228,000 courtesy of streaming equivalent albums (SEAs); Billboard<\/em> reports<\/a> that Thank U, Next<\/em> tallied the most first-week streams ever<\/a> for a female artist\u2019s album or a pop album.<\/p>\n

By comparison, Grande\u2019s Sweetener<\/em> opened with 231,000 total copies when it debuted at Number One in August 2018<\/a>. Thank U, Next<\/em> also marks Grande\u2019s fourth Number One album, following 2013\u2019s Yours Truly<\/em>, 2014\u2019s My Everything<\/em> and Sweetener<\/em>. 2016\u2019s Dangerous Woman<\/em> peaked at Number Two.<\/p>\n

Thank U, Next<\/em> was the lone new release to impact the Billboard 200\u2019s Top 10, although Kacey Musgraves\u2019 Golden Hour<\/em> surged back up to Number Nine and 20,000 total copies sold in the abbreviated sales week following her Album of the Year win<\/a>. Golden Hour<\/em> peaked at Number Four upon its release in March 2018.<\/p>\n

Another Grammy winner, the A Star Is Born<\/em> soundtrack and its hit \u201cShallow,\u201d jumped up to Number Two, spurred on by Lady Gaga\u2019s show-stopping performance<\/a> on Music\u2019s Biggest Night. The Bohemian Rhapsody<\/em> soundtrack also wound up at Number Three thanks to the companion album accompanying copies of the film\u2019s just-released DVD, Billboard<\/em> notes.<\/p>\n

The rest of the Top 10 were returnees: A Boogie Wit da Hoodie\u2019s Hoodie<\/em>\u00a0SZN<\/em>\u00a0at Number Four, Post Malone\u2019s\u00a0Beerbongs & Bentleys<\/em>\u00a0at Number Five, Travis Scott\u2019s\u00a0Astroworld<\/em>\u00a0at Number Six, 21 Savage\u2019s\u00a0I Am > I Was<\/em>\u00a0at Number Seven, Drake\u2019s\u00a0Scorpion<\/em>\u00a0at Number Eight and Meek Mill\u2019s Championships<\/em> closing things out at Number 10.<\/p>\n

Next week, Grande could face some competition from Florida Georgia Line\u2019s new album Can\u2019t Say I Ain\u2019t Country<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n
