Queen<\/a> detailed a new documentary, The Show Must Go On: The Queen + Adam Lambert<\/a> Story<\/em>, which debuts Monday, April 29th on ABC<\/a>. Jim Beach and Simon Lupton produced the project, which traces Lambert\u2019s rise from obscurity to competing on American Idol<\/em> to joining the iconic rock band.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Show Must Go On<\/em>, named after the closing track from Queen\u2019s 1991 LP, Innuendo<\/em>, includes rare concert footage, behind-the-scenes clips and exclusive interviews with band members Brian May, Roger Taylor and Lambert, Bohemian Rhapsody<\/em> star Rami Malek, Foo Fighters\u2019 Taylor Hawkins and American Idol<\/em> judge Simon Cowell.<\/span> \u201cSo excited about our documentary,\u201d Lambert tweeted<\/a> Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Queen and Lambert, who opened the 2019 Oscars<\/a> with \u201cWe Will Rock You\u201d and \u201cWe Are the Champions,\u201d recently announced a summer North American tour<\/a>. The 23-date trek \u201cRhapody\u201d tour\u2014a reference to Bohemian Rhapsody<\/em><\/a>, one of the highest-grossing music biopics of all-time<\/a>\u2014launches July 10th in Vancouver, British Columbia and wraps August 23rd in Charlotte, North Carolina.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bohemian Rhapsody<\/em>, which focuses on the band and late frontman Freddie Mercury, earned four Academy Awards, including Malek for Best Actor, Best Sound Mixing and Best Film Editing, and was nominated for Best Picture. The film also spawned a career-spanning soundtrack<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0that peaked at Number Three on the Billboard 200 chart.<\/span><\/p>\n
