Lady Gaga<\/a> and Bradley Cooper<\/a> weren\u2019t the only ones to perform \u201cShallow\u201d this week. On Monday\u2019s Howard Stern Show<\/em>, Stern and his longtime co-host Robin Quivers did their bast karaoke rendition of the Oscar-winning tune from A Star Is Born<\/a><\/em>. \u201cA special moment as Howard sings to Robin,\u201d Stern said before doing his best Bradley Cooper, even if he couldn\u2019t exactly pull it off.<\/p>\n

Quivers does a better job with the early part of Gaga\u2019s first verse, but when it comes to the \u201cIn all the good times I find myself in\u201d part she can\u2019t come close to hitting the notes and collapses into hysterics. \u201cI\u2019m not going to do this,\u201d she says. \u201cI have to work today. I can\u2019t do that. I won\u2019t have a voice left!\u201d<\/p>\n

Robin may not be the most technically adept vocalist in the world, but she loves to sing and in recent years has recorded tongue-in-cheek covers of Kelly Clarkson\u2019s \u201cSince U Been Gone,\u201d<\/a> Leonard Cohen\u2019s \u201cHallelujah\u201d<\/a> and many other classics. She even recorded \u201cSilent Night\u201d as a duet with Miley Cyrus<\/a>, but shortly after that session she announced her retirement from singing because she wasn\u2019t seeing eye-to-eye with her producers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have a vision that\u2019s not mine and so we\u2019re having creative differences, I suppose,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s hard to explain, when you\u2019re an artist, that you don\u2019t want to do everything somebody might want you to do.\u201d Stern, however, didn\u2019t buy it. \u201cI\u2019m kind of thinking this might be like Sinatra when he retired first in 1971 and then he came back,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t think she\u2019s over, she\u2019s just taking a hiatus.\u201d Evidently he was right, though it remains to be seen whether this marks a return to her singing career or just a brief hiatus from retirement.<\/p>\n
