{"id":793950,"date":"2019-03-19T09:38:29","date_gmt":"2019-03-19T15:38:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=810069"},"modified":"2019-03-19T09:38:29","modified_gmt":"2019-03-19T15:38:29","slug":"dolores-oriordan-roars-on-new-cranberries-song-wake-me-when-its-over","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/music-news\/dolores-oriordan-roars-on-new-cranberries-song-wake-me-when-its-over\/","title":{"rendered":"Dolores O\u2019Riordan Roars on New Cranberries Song \u2018Wake Me When It\u2019s Over\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/cranberries-new-song-Dolores-ORiordan.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/the-cranberries\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-cranberries\" data-tag=\"the-cranberries\">The Cranberries<\/a> try to move past a bad nightmare on their new song, \u201cWake Me When It\u2019s Over.\u201d The track will appear on the group\u2019s forthcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/the-cranberries-final-album-dolores-oriordan-in-the-end-779079\/\">final album, <em>In the End<\/em><\/a>, out April 26th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Lead guitarist Noel Hogan described the song as \u201cvery much a classic Dolores [O\u2019Riordan] song,\u201d with the late singer guiding the track from its soft verse through its massive chorus. \u201cFighting\u2019s not the answer,\u201d O\u2019Riordan belts, \u201cFighting\u2019s not the cure\/It\u2019s eating you like cancer\/It\u2019s killing you for sure\/Wake me when it\u2019s over.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWake Me When It\u2019s Over\u201d follows previously-released <em>In the End<\/em> tracks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/the-cranberries-all-over-now-video-dolores-oriordan-804944\/\">\u201cAll Over Now\u201d<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7SBcEEUbBjc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cThe Pressure.\u201d<\/a> O\u2019Riordan and Hogan had begun working on all the songs on the album before the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/dolores-oriordan-the-cranberries-singer-dead-at-46-253547\/\">singer\u2019s death<\/a> last January. After several months of mourning, Hogan and the rest of the Cranberries enlisted producer Stephen Street \u2013 who\u2019d previously helmed four Cranberries records \u2013 to help them finish the album.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Cranberries have no intention to remain a band after the release of <em>In the End<\/em>, even though people have approached them about getting a new signer or even using a hologram. \u201cIt\u2019s come up as well, \u2018Well, find another singer,\u2019\u201d Hogan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/the-cranberries-final-album-interview-790271\/\">told <em>Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI don\u2019t think people who say that fully get it. Maybe they think they\u2019re being nice or something. It\u2019s not something we\u2019re ever going to entertain.
