Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist O\u2019Brien grew up singing in church and in school.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">After seeing Doc Watson on TV, he became a lifelong devotee of old time and bluegrass music. O\u2019Brien first toured nationally in the 1980s with Colorado bluegrass band Hot Rize. Over the years, O\u2019Brien has released 15 solo albums, as well as collaborations with his sister Mollie O\u2019Brien, songwriter Darrell Scott and noted old time musician Dirk Powell. He\u2019s performed or recorded with Steve Earle, Mark Knopfler, Bill Frisell, Steve Martin and many more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Opening for O\u2019Brien are Jonny Miller of The Lonesome Days, David Pailet of Turkeyfoot and Natalie Padilla of Masontown. Tickets start at $20 and can be purchased at WarrenStation.com.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Then on Sunday, kids and adults are invited for pond skimming. The Kidtopia Slush Cup offers a smaller pond for contestants ages 6-12 while those 13 and older compete in the Keystone Slush Cup.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">A panel of judges will score competitors on distance, style, creativity and water resistance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Registration is $35 for ages 13 and older, and kids 12 and younger are free. Day-of registration and check-in will take place starting at 8 a.m. at the Mountain House Base Area lodge, but early registration is encouraged to guarantee a spot in the event.
