That there is a good outlook for the Wellington mines and mills to resume operations during the coming fall was indicated this morning by manager Henderson upon referring to the optimistic view taken by president Oldham and other officials of the company toward an early revival of the metal prices.<\/p>\n

BREAK IN WATER MAINS CAUSES SCHOOLS TO BE CLOSED DURING WEEK<\/p>\n

Monday morning a break in the water main in front of the schoolhouse deprived the school of water and all pupils downstairs were sent home at recess.<\/p>\n

All the joy has been taken out of joy rides in stolen automobiles by a bill passed in the Washington Legislators and signed by the governor. The new law makes it a felony to steal an automobile or to ride in an automobile that has been taken without permission of the owner.<\/p>\n

It was officially announced in London that the army council had decided that Queen Mary\u2019s auxiliary corps of women, which did such splendid work during the war, should be maintained as part of the after-the-war army organization.<\/p>\n

There has been a sense of suppressed excitement in and about Lake City because of mineral discoveries and announcements that have been made during that time of mining projects that are to be undertaken in the districts with the opening of spring.<\/p>\n
