Vail Resorts has announced the sale of the Village Hotel in Breckenridge to Gravity Haus, a Colorado-based company that plans to renovate the existing 60-room hotel in downtown Breckenridge.<\/strong>

Vail Resorts has confirmed the sale of the Village Hotel in Breckenridge and removed any mystery about what\u2019s to become of the property after news of a deal emerged last month.<\/p>\n

A news release issued by Vail Resorts details an agreement in which the Colorado-based Gravity Haus is reportedly buying the hotel and Vail Resorts will manage it under a long-term agreement.<\/p>\n

The release says the property will be fully renovated and rebranded as \u201cGravity Haus,\u201d a new hotel and membership concept that is expected to debut next winter.<\/p>\n

The existing 60-room hotel at 535 S. Park Ave. sits at the base of Peak 9 in Breckenridge, easy walking distance to downtown, Main Street\u2019s many shops and Breckenridge Ski Resort.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs Breckenridge continues to grow as a destination, this is an opportune time to reposition the Village Hotel to maximize its potential and enhance the resort experience for today\u2019s guests,\u201d said James O\u2019Donnell, the company\u2019s executive vice president of hospitality, retail and real estate. \u201cWe believe we can create more value to our guests by allowing a third-party owner to renovate and redevelop the property.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sale of the Village Hotel was referenced on March 28<\/a> when the Summit Daily News reported Mountain Top Children\u2019s Museum was in need of a new home following the sale of the building. Vail Resorts had been allowing the nonprofit to operate out of it.<\/p>\n

At the time, a Vail Resorts spokeswoman declined to comment, saying only that the company does not speculate about the purchase or sale of any property until the agreement is final.<\/p>\n

Now, Vail Resorts says the remodeled hotel will feature a prominent backcountry center, gear rentals, lockers, a flexible new lodging model for groups and international visitors and a Japanese onsen-inspired spa.<\/p>\n

\u201cGravity Haus is a hotel concept built for adventurers and athletes who seek the most authentic outdoor experiences the Rockies have to offer,\u201d the news release stated. \u201cDriven by an optional and affordable membership model, Gravity Haus serves Front Range individuals and families who frequent Breckenridge and want on-site amenities that include dedicated lockers, an athletic performance gym, co-working, and seamless booking. It also serves the global traveler looking for a sense of community, access to gear, and the ability to explore and play in the Rockies like a local.\u201d<\/p>\n

Financial details of the sale were not disclosed.<\/p>\n
