She was born Oct. 9, 1925, in Jewell County, Kansas to Emit Harry and Elva May (Conger) Henningsen. She graduated from high school in 1944. She married John Elden Menhusen on June 13, 1948, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Jewell, Kansas. They moved to a ranch on the Blue River in 1962. She was a ranch wife and worked as a cashier at Safeway in Frisco, Colorado, and belonged to the Rocky Mountain Bible Church. She enjoyed Christian music and activities, square dancing, cooking and traveling.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Ilda is survived by her sister Dorothy Borger of Glasco, Kansas; brother Rex Henningsen of Beloit, Kansas; daughters Mickey (Bob) Freedman of Lakewood and Mary Ann McBride of Soldotna, Alaska; grandchildren Travis (Carolyn) Freedman of Salome, Arizona, Troy (Jenny) Freedman of Lakewood, Ty (Kristin) Freedman of Prescott, Arizona, Taryn Espino of Prescott, Trent (Meg) Freedman of Lakewood, Paul (Holly) McBride of Elmendorf\/Richardson US Air Force\/Army Base, Alaska, Kirsten McBride of Soldotna and 23 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brothers Rollo and Dale Henningsen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">A graveside service will be held at the Dillon Cemetery, Dillon, Colorado, on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at 1 p.m., weather permitting.
