Following the annual call for entries<\/a> for Summit Music and Arts\u2019 Young Composers Competition, nine musicians from around the region will have the opportunity to perform their works in public.<\/p>\n

The composers were previously scheduled to all play in a concert at the end of April, however, due to the small number of entrants the composers will instead perform as an opening act during the Summit Music and Arts 2019-20 concert season. The season is set to begin this fall.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough the number of submissions to the competition were much lower than ever before, the compositions were of a uniformly high standard and certainly are worthy of a performance opportunity,\u201d the press release states.<\/p>\n

The competition was open to composers ages 7-18 from Clear Creek, Eagle, Grand, Lake Park, Routt and Summit counties. The nine musicians and their composed works are:<\/p>\n

Corey Johnson, Silverthorne: \u201cLost at Sea\u201d<\/p>\n

Phoenix Meyer, Breckenridge: \u201cUp and Down Days\u201d<\/p>\n

Abigail Schmidt, Silverthorne: \u201cDawn to Dusk\u201d<\/p>\n

Jack Walsh, Steamboat Springs: \u201cSonata for Piano, Violin, and Flute in A minor, Op.3\u201d<\/p>\n

Ethan Windsor, Breckenridge: \u201cThe River of Spirits\u201d<\/p>\n

Lily Windsor, Breckenridge: \u201cThe Lost Highlands\u201d<\/p>\n
