\u201cWe only allow licensed Realtors into our membership,\u201d said Dana Cottrell, a Realtor with Summit Resort Group and SAR\u2019s president-elect. \u201cLast year our association offered 24 continuing education classes specific to topics affecting Summit, Lake and Park counties.\u201d<\/p>\n

Everything SAR provides for its members aims to make them better at what they do. When SAR invites national teachers to come up to Summit County to present, Cottrell said they often can\u2019t believe how complex SAR\u2019s members practice is.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe things we do regularly up here may only be seen once in a career in other places,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you work with a SAR member, you\u2019re working with someone who does business up here in the mountains,\u201d she said. \u201cThat\u2019s the idea \u2014 you want to pick someone who knows this market inside and out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beware of online resources or companies that say you don\u2019t need a Realtor, said Tom Coolidge, president of the Summit Association of Realtors.<\/p>\n

\u201cReal estate is often the largest investment you\u2019ll make in your lifetime \u2014 you need professional guidance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

A local mountain real estate broker is going to provide you the best, most comprehensive, competent, local expertise to guide you through your real estate journey. <\/p>\n
