Eddie Money<\/a>, the singer-saxophonist whose string of hits include \u201cBaby Hold On,\u201d \u201cTwo Tickets to Paradise\u201d and \u201cTake Me Home Tonight,\u201d died Friday at the age of 70.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Money Family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully early this morning,\u201d the family said in a statement to Rolling Stone<\/em>. \u201cIt is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music.\u201d<\/p>\n

Money suffered a series of health problems in recent years, and in August revealed he was battling stage 4 esophageal cancer<\/a> in a promo for the upcoming season of Real Money, a TV series about the rocker\u2019s life.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I don\u2019t want to do is I don\u2019t want to keep the fact that I have cancer from everybody,\u201d Money said. \u201cIt\u2019s not honest. I want to be honest with everybody. I want people to know that cancer [treatment] has come a long way and not everybody dies from cancer like they did in the Fifties and Sixties. Am I going to live a long time? Who knows? It\u2019s in God\u2019s hands.\u201d<\/p>\n
