Brian Johnson<\/a> travels to Wales to meet Robert Plant<\/a> in the place he moved to after recording Led Zeppelin II<\/em> in a clip from the AC\/DC frontman\u2019s TV show A Life on the Road<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe rented the cottage I used to go to when I was a kid, which is not far from here,\u201d Plant remembered in an interview with Johnson, as they walked through the woodsin a clip from the show. \u201cAnd we began the writing of Led Zeppelin III<\/em> up there. And it was great, because it was so far away from the chaos of touring. You know what it\u2019s like.\u201d The episode airs Sunday on AXS.<\/p>\n

In another clip, Plant reflects on Led Zeppelin\u2019s foundations. \u201cI suppose Cream, the Grateful Dead, the white blues thing was kicking in, and you had that great West Coast thing going on with Jefferson Airplane,\u201d he says. \u201cYou had a subculture develop, and we kind of attached ourselves to that. We didn\u2019t have any social statements to make. We weren\u2019t visionaries in that sense, but we were still by our age at the time, part of that huge movement of energy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later in the clip, as they sit among the rocks, Johnson reflected on how singing a Led Zeppelin song was a feat for him when he was coming up. \u201cThat\u2019s where I was lucky,\u201d he tells Plant. \u201cI could [sing] \u2026 high-octave singing. The start of the \u2018Immigrant Song,\u2019 when I hear that call, it\u2019s a ritualistic call to arms.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you want a job now, I could put a word in for you,\u201d rejoins the famously obstinate Plant, who opted not to do further reunion concerts with Led Zeppelin in 2007.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Plant sang Led Zeppelin III\u2019s<\/em> \u201cImmigrant Song\u201d live<\/a> for the first time in decades at Iceland\u2019s Summer Solstice Festival. The tune had a new, more hypnotic arrangement with lighter drums and violin.<\/p>\n
