And at her show in Seattle this week, Del Rey transitioned from her own tune \u201cCinnamon Girl\u201d (not a Neil Young cover) into a rendition of Simon &amp; Garfunkel\u2019s \u201cScarborough Fair,\u201d a song she\u2019s covered on prior tours.<\/p>\n<p>In both Seattle and the previous show in Vancouver, Del Rey debuted her cover of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/joni-mitchell\">Joni Mitchell\u2019s<\/a> \u201cFor Free,\u201d a song whose album, 1970\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Ladies of the Canyon<\/em>, is referenced by name on <em>Norman Fucking Rockwell<\/em>. She performed it alongside a piano, replicating the sparseness of Mitchell\u2019s original version.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" type=\"text\/html\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/16bzMeUJEg0?version=3&amp;enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/music\/story\/2019-10-03\/lana-del-rey-hollywood-bowl-norman-rockwell\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">a new interview<\/a> with Molly Lambert in the&nbsp;<em>Los Angeles Times<\/em>, Del Rey hinted at more covers to come. \u201cIt\u2019d be so fun to do \u2018Hotel California,\u2019\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s really hard to sing, though. You think you know it and then seven minutes in you\u2019re like, \u2018Oh, Jesus!\u2019\u201d She even brought up the possibility of a full covers album.<\/p>\n<p><em>Norman Fucking Rockwell\u2019<\/em>s Sublime cover \u201cDoin\u2019 Time\u201d has become a charting hit for Del Rey, and she recently recorded a version of Donovan\u2019s \u201cSeason of the Witch\u201d for the film&nbsp;<em>Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomewhere in the back of my mind, I\u2019ve been coordinating this concept covers album called <em>Pacific Blue<\/em>,\u201d Del Rey said. \u201cIt would be a very low-key thing, like acoustic Beach Boys stuff, Elvis, Chris Isaak. People usually think your career is over when you record a covers album or a Christmas album. But my musician friends and I are always playing covers.
