This week in history as reported by the Summit County Journal, the week of October 5, 1919.<\/em><\/p>\n

E.S. CAF\u00c9 SOLD TO MRS. WM. FORMAN<\/strong><\/p>\n

The E.S. caf\u00e9 has been transferred by purchase from the possession of George Sakai to Mrs. Will Forman, who will take possession on October 15th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

George Sakai, who has been a resident of Breckenridge for a number of years, will leave shortly for Japan on business connected with his mother\u2019s estate. George, however, is retaining interests in Breckenridge and expects to return after a few months stay in Japan.<\/p>\n

WELL KNOWN PROSPECTOR IS FOUND DEAD IN MOUNTAINS<\/strong><\/p>\n

The body of Dan Recen, a prominent pioneer of Summit county and a resident since 1884, was found at an isolated cabin in a lonely spot on the Gore range in Eagle county by E. Flood of Frisco.<\/p>\n

Mr. Recent had been in the habit of visiting this cabin once or twice a year, taking great pleasure in the short period of isolation surrounded by the grandeur of the mountains in that section. Mr. Flood became concerned at Mr. Recen\u2019s failure to return, as he had not been in the habit of remaining for more than a few days. Flood went directly to the cabin and found the body of Mr. Recen at its door covered with snow which indicated that he had died before the snow of last Friday, as little snow has fallen since. He is believed to have died from heart trouble.<\/p>\n

GAMBLERS ARE DISMISSED BY DIST. ATTORNEY<\/strong><\/p>\n

Judge Francis E. Bouck in the district court in session at Breckenridge last Monday and Tuesday disposed of a number of cases, prominent among which was the dismissal of the \u201cpoker club\u201d members on motion of the new District attorney, E.A. Bond.<\/p>\n
