Hours after announcing a pair of new singles<\/a>, Frank Ocean<\/a> premiered a third new song, \u201cDHL,\u201d on the first episode of the singer\u2019s Blonded<\/em> radio show<\/a> in over two years. The track marks Ocean\u2019s first original music since 2017.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got a pack from DHL \/ Just got up on a pill,\u201d Ocean sings on the chorus of the Boys Noize-produced<\/a> track, a downbeat 4:30-minute cut punctuated by Ocean\u2019s roving verses.<\/p>\n

Following the release of \u201cDHL,\u201d Ocean\u2019s fans have combed through the singer\u2019s social media and dug about a pair of references to the shipping company: An August 2017 Instagram post<\/a> where Ocean said he wanted to buy a DHL plane and a December 2018 Instagram story<\/a> where Ocean unveiled 15 seconds of the song \u201cDHL.\u201d<\/p>\n

Complex also notes<\/a> that the cover art for \u201cDHL\u201d hints at the upcoming arrival of 13 new Ocean songs, although Ocean himself didn\u2019t detail his Blonde follow-up in his revived radio show.<\/p>\n

\u201cDHL\u201d follows news of the upcoming arrivals of two 12\u2033 vinyl singles \u201cDear April\u201d and \u201cCayendo,\u201d songs that debuted in remix form at Ocean\u2019s PrEP+ club night Thursday.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview<\/a>, Ocean discussed some of the influences for his much-anticipated new album. \u201cI\u2019ve been interested in club, and the many different iterations of nightlife for music and songs,\u201d Ocean said in September. \u201cAnd so the things I look at now have a lot to do with those scenes: Detroit, Chicago, techno, house, French electronic \u2026 I grew up in New Orleans, so the closest to the nightlife scene for me was New Orleans bounce, and that was a lot of trends. But it\u2019s so much a part of my childhood and my youth that I don\u2019t really go back to it so much as a touch point. I\u2019m really looking forward. It\u2019s kind of a mix for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
