Next week is Halloween and hosts already have rolled out the carpet covered in spider webs for the arrival of a horribly fun time. Here is a spooky sampling of ghoulish games and activities happening throughout Summit County.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Frisco frights<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the first time, HighSide Brewing is transforming into an interactive \u201cspook easy\u201d Saturday, Oct. 26. The night will feature a costume contest, games, dancers and, most importantly, a haunted house. The haunted house opens at 7 p.m., and music by The Frisco Funk Collective, dubbed The Frisco Fear Collective, begins at 8.<\/p>\n<p>At Frisco\u2019s other brewery, Outer Range Brewing Co., guests can expect a DJ playing \u201990s hip-hop at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25. Be sure to come in costume as winners of the contest will be announced at 9. The night also will see two India pale ales released at 5. First, there\u2019s The Willies Double IPA made with Kohatu, Citra and Hallertau Mittelfruh hops while The Heebeegeebees IPA contains Galaxy, Citra and Simcoe hops.<\/p>\n<p>There also will be a trio of terribly delightful town events Friday, Oct. 25. First, the Frisco Historic Park &amp; Museum will have its Nightmare at the Museum at 6 p.m., when guests can explore the park by lantern and enjoy refreshments in the schoolhouse. Then at 6:30, people can tour the Frisco Cemetery and hear tales from its current inhabitants. Finally, at 8:30 at 10 at Mile Music Hall is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/summit-county-coroners-office-to-throw-halloween-zombie-ball-fundraiser-for-survivor-support\/\">Zombie Ball<\/a>. There will be music from Horizon Line and Beau Thomas in addition to a silent auction and superhero zombie costume contest. Proceeds benefit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/summit-county-coroners-office-to-throw-halloween-zombie-ball-fundraiser-for-survivor-support\/\">Summit County Coroner\u2019s Office\u2019s Survivor Support Program<\/a>. Dead Floyd, a Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd cover band, and the Frisco Funk Collective will have a free show at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at 10 Mile Music Hall. The venue also is having a kid-friendly afternoon of Halloween fun and games from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27. Businesses on Main Street from Madison Avenue to Seventh Avenue \u2014 and in the Frisco Historic Park \u2014 will be giving out sweets. Look for the orange jack-o\u2019-lanterns to see which businesses are participating. Each Thursday, Friday and Saturday until Nov. 4, visitors can join the marshal\u2019s posses and explore 1,000 feet of a mine overrun by the undead, ghosts and other scares. After experiencing that \u201ctunnel of terror,\u201d they can escape a puzzle room and take part in axe throwing. Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/horrorinthemine.com\">horrorinthemine.com<\/a> to book a tour.<\/p>\n<p>The Breckenridge Heritage Alliance also is combining history and horror throughout October. Tea time at the Briggle House has been put under a witch\u2019s spell, and people can tour the Valley Brook Cemetery or attend a haunted house. Victorian hair art \u2014 a way of remembering the deceased \u2014 is part of the exhibit: \u201cMilne House in Mourning: A Wake for Ada Finding,\u201d a unique collection highlighting late 1800s mourning customs, superstitions and etiquette.&nbsp;Also on display are clothing, veils, a child\u2019s casket and tear-savers. The night features an open bar, costume contest and music by DJ Davey Darko. Happening at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, entrants are given two beers, one pumpkin and all of the necessary tools for $20 as they vie for prizes. There are only 25 spots available, so sign up for one soon at the brewery.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019d rather carve without the competitive pressure, consider Breckenridge Creative Arts\u2019 pumpkin carving date night. The event for singles and couples happens at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Gallery@OMH. Tickets are $20 for nonmembers, $15 for members and include one alcoholic beverage. Yesterday\u2019s Tomorrow will perform throughout the day while the contest begins at 1:30. There are different categories depending on age, even ones for dogs and groups, and prizes range from gift cards to the 6th Alley Bar and Grill Supper Club.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dia de Los Muertos <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If there wasn\u2019t enough to do leading up to and on Halloween, BreckCreate has you covered as they celebrate Dia de Los Muertos. Beginning Friday, Nov. 1, people can walk around the Arts District campus for a variety of events such as hands-on workshops, face painting, art installations, a photo booth and community-made altars. The celebration starts with an opening blessing by the Aztec storytelling, dance and music group Chimaltonalli followed by a performance from Mariachi Internacional Denver at Gallery@OMH. In between listening to music, hear artist Santiago Jaramillo discuss his \u201cAncient Roots and Modern Altars\u201d exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>At 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, Breckenridge Film Festival is screening the animated movie \u201cBook of Life\u201d at Breckenridge Theater. Later that evening at 6:30, the theater will host a free performance by Baile Folkl\u00f3rico as they dance and share Mexican culture.
