Kanye West<\/a> made a surprise appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a><\/em> and took the opportunity to discuss his new album Jesus Is King<\/em><\/a>, which was delayed after it\u2019s promised midnight release. The rapper also talked about his recent discovery of Christianity and his new IMAX movie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When asked when Jesus Is King<\/em> would be coming out West replied, \u201cIt\u2019s going to be dropping at 12 a.m.\u201d (It has since been delayed due to issues with some of the \u201cmixes\u201d). He added, \u201cIt\u2019s out now.\u201d<\/p>\n

West discussed the forthcoming IMAX movie, which is a companion piece<\/a> for the album, which he shot in Flagstaff, Arizona with the help of artist James Turrell. Kimmel showed a clip of West\u2019s daughter North dancing along to the film, noting that she\u2019s a \u201creal performer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to say that I love the fact that my daughter wants to go to church,\u201d West said. \u201cShe has such a positive thought association with going to church because it\u2019s outside of the traditional four walls and outside of the pews. Now that God has called me and I now have given my life to Jesus Christ and I work for God. Now we have Christian innovation in our time.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, to Kimmel, \u201cYou asked me last year did having a daughter change my life and I\u2019ve completely turned around from where my perspective was last year to where it is now. I feel like there\u2019s so few individuals in the position like mine to be able to give their opinion and stand up and say \u2018This is what family is about.\u2019 I feel that God is using me and using the choir and using my family to show off\u2026 We\u2019re in complete service to God.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWould you consider yourself to be a Christian music artist now?\u201d Kimmel asked in response. \u201cI\u2019m just a Christian everything,\u201d West replied. \u201cEverything.\u201d<\/p>\n

West also had some unorthodox advice for audience member Dave Johnson, who recently won the New York lottery. \u201cSo I invest in land in middle America,\u201d West said. \u201cI have 12,500 acres of land in Wyoming right now. So when we think about where we\u2019re spending our money I saw the Gucci jacket and I was like, \u2018Okay, that\u2019s nice.\u2019 When we present ourselves on TV we always have to show this luxury. I got a cheap-ass hoodie on and I\u2019m a billionaire.\u201d He added, suggesting that Johnson get a team of people behind him, especially as a black man, \u201cWhen I first got money I didn\u2019t have a CFO and people who really show me how that feels.\u201d When asked by Kimmel if he wants to invest in land with Johnson West confirmed, \u201cIt\u2019s easy.\u201d<\/p>\n

West will return to Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/em> on Friday night to perform a track from Jesus Is King<\/em>.<\/p>\n
