Vote no on Proposition CC.<\/p>\n<p>What do you do with those blank checks that<br \/>\nyour credit card company sends you periodically? Perhaps you\u2019ve used one when<br \/>\ntimes were tight and there was an emergency expense you couldn\u2019t avoid. The<br \/>\nfine print on the check makes it clear that this is indeed a loan, and as a<br \/>\nconsequence of using the check there are fees incurred in addition to interest<br \/>\npayments if the debt isn\u2019t repaid by a specific time. Responsible adults<br \/>\nunderstand the risks associated with writing these checks. Would you sign the<br \/>\nwhole stack of them and hand them out to random neighborhood kids trick or<br \/>\ntreating at your house so they could use them as they please, perhaps holding<br \/>\nonto them until they want to buy their first car or pay their college tuition?<br \/>\nIf you vote yes on Proposition CC, you are figuratively giving a forever blank<br \/>\ncheck to our state legislators. I\u2019m not kidding. This is a very sinister attempt<br \/>\nto further deteriorate the Taxpayer Bill of Rights, our right to have a say in<br \/>\nhow our state government spends money. The intent of TABOR was to keep our<br \/>\nstate spending within our means, a reasonable expectation for a government or a<br \/>\nfamily. Our lawmakers have found clever (aka dishonest) ways to work around<br \/>\nthese limits. Our state senators, representatives and governor should be<br \/>\naccountable to all of us, the taxpayers who pay their salaries. Proposition CC<br \/>\nis a permanent, not temporary, suspension of our refunds.&nbsp; Don\u2019t give our state legislators a forever<br \/>\nblank check that our children and their children will have to pay back.
