This allows you to cut down a conifer tree in the White River National Forest for personal use. The U.S. Forest Service prohibits cutting down Colorado Blue Spruce trees, aspen trees or trees that are over 15 feet tall or 6 inches in stump diameter.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Permits will be sold through Monday, Dec. 23. There is a maximum of five tree permits per person.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Permits can be purchased with cash, check or credit card at the following locations:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Timberline Sporting Goods<\/li>\n<li>Aspen Chamber Resort Association<\/li>\n<li>Bristlecone Mountain Sports<\/li>\n<li>Roaring Fork Valley Coop<\/li>\n<li>Big John\u2019s Ace Hardware<\/li>\n<li>The Nearly Everything Store \u2014 Batson\u2019s Corner<\/li>\n<li>Vail Valley Ace Hardware<\/li>\n<li>Sanders True Value Hardware (cash only)<\/li>\n<li>Breckenridge Welcome Center<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is the permit holder\u2019s responsibility to know what areas are and aren\u2019t permitted for Christmas tree harvesting. Those locations are outlined on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fs.usda.gov\/detail\/whiteriver\/passes-permits\/forestproducts\/?cid=fseprd602160\">Forest Service\u2019s website<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Those wishing to receive their permit by mail can download and print the online form via the Forest Service website and mail the form with a check or cash to the Forest Supervisor\u2019s office in Glenwood Springs.
