They keep pushing tax measures under the guise they are \u201chelping\u201d the workers of Summit County.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2013, the county manager and commissioners have gotten ballot measures 1A and 5A passed, which will collect nearly $120 million in taxes on property owners through 2029. When are they going to admit their actions are the major cause of the escalating cost of living increases here in Summit County for people just like Adlam?<\/p>\n<p>Adlam, you are a great example of someone who pays attention. You have discovered our county leaders care little about you and your living cost issues, but they do care about their own benefits and perks. We can only hope there are more people living here like you. Your landlord and others like them can\u2019t keep absorbing these taxes without increasing your rent and overall costs of living here.<\/p>\n<p>So you will probably not be surprised that concrete evidence exists that loans were granted to our ex-county manager, current county manager, current assistant county manager and now retired county attorney for a total of $1.15 million with very low interest rates and no monthly interest payments. Wouldn\u2019t we all love to have access to loans like these \u201cabove the law\u201d people.<\/p>\n<p>We will have an election in 2020 for county commissioners. We need an entire change \u2013 including our county manager position.
