{"id":802299,"date":"2019-12-13T10:46:38","date_gmt":"2019-12-13T17:46:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/?p=375766"},"modified":"2019-12-13T10:46:38","modified_gmt":"2019-12-13T17:46:38","slug":"dillon-petco-found-in-violation-of-colorado-department-of-agriculture-standards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/local-news\/dillon-petco-found-in-violation-of-colorado-department-of-agriculture-standards\/","title":{"rendered":"Dillon Petco found in violation of Colorado Department of Agriculture standards"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/08\/Petco-SDN-101813.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>DILLON \u2014 The Petco store in Dillon, 264 Dillon Ridge Road, was found in violation of three Pet Animal Care Facilities Act rules following an inspection Jan. 9, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peta.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/PACFA-documents-on-Petcos-early-2019.pdf\">report by the Colorado Department of Agriculture<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Animal welfare group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals emailed the report to the Summit Daily News on Tuesday, Dec. 10.<\/p>\n<p>Violations at the Dillon store included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Failure to possess a current agreement with a veterinarian for services and consultation on animal health needs, as the store does not have a veterinarian on-staff.<\/li>\n<li>Failure to provide an adopter with a rabies brochure explaining the risk of rabies and describing the benefits of a rabies vaccination.<\/li>\n<li>Failure to obtain a certificate of veterinary inspection for pet animals brought from outside the state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On Jan. 22, officials visited the Dillon store for a follow-up inspection and recorded that the facility had corrected all violations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/dillon-petco-found-in-violation-of-colorado-department-of-agriculture-standards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">via:: Summit Daily<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DILLON \u2014 The Petco store in Dillon, 264 Dillon Ridge Road, was found in violation of three Pet Animal Care Facilities Act rules following an inspection Jan. 9, according to a report by the Colorado Department of Agriculture.
