But they are warning people who were in the airport between 1:15 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 11 that they may have been exposed.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear how many people came in contact with the children. About 179,000 people passed through the airport that day, spokeswoman Emily Williams&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2019\/12\/16\/colorado-measles-outbreak-denver-airport\/\">told The Denver Post.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Health officials are also notifying people who were at the Children\u2019s Hospital Colorado\u2019s Anschutz Emergency Department between 1 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re doing this investigation for a reason, and that reason is precisely to prevent secondary spread \u2014 and having a non-ideal vaccination rate in Colorado isn\u2019t helping matters,\u201d said Dr. Bernadette Albanese, a medical epidemiologist.<\/p>\n<p>Colorado\u2019s immunization rate for the measles, mumps and rubella vaccination was 87.4% last school year, which is below the threshold needed to protect a community from a measles outbreak.
