Summit County Rescue Group volunteers and Flight For Life rescued an injured snowboarder Saturday afternoon from Quandary Peak.<\/strong>

BRECKENRDIGE \u2014 Summit County Rescue Group volunteers rescued an injured snowboarder Saturday afternoon from Quandary Peak, according to a news release.<\/p>\n

At about 1:30 p.m., a 25-year-old man called 911 to say that he had fallen about 100 feet and needed help. The man was on the south side of Quandary Peak, just below the Blue Lakes dam, according to the release.<\/p>\n

Fifteen rescuers joined the mission on snowmobiles and found the man about 100 feet above the road leading to the dam. His snowboard was about 200 vertical feet above him on a cliff band, according to the release. It\u2019s unknown whether the man snowboarded from the top of the peak or climbed up from the road below.<\/p>\n

A Flight For Life helicopter was able to land on the road just below the man and transport him to the hospital. No information was available about the man\u2019s injuries.<\/p>\n

Mission on Quandary Peak<\/a><\/p>\n

Summit County Rescue Group was called out to rescue an injured snowboarder in the Quandary Peak area today. The rescue subject called 911 from his cell phone and said he had fallen about 100 feet from cliffs on the south side of Quandary, near the Blue Lakes dam. Fifteen rescuers were fielded and found him just above the road to Blue Lakes. His snowboard was approximately 200 vertical feet above him, but it was not clear whether he had fallen while descending from the peak or had hiked up from Blue Lakes road. Flight for Life’s Frisco-based helicopter was able to land on the road below Blue Lakes dam and snowmobilers from SCRG loaded the patient for transport to a medical facility.<\/p>\n
