Ankles will be twisting and wrist bones splitting and screams of please, no.<\/p>\n<p>Jan. 9 is the one day where Colorado workers face the highest odds of a serious workplace injury, according to Pinnacol Assurance, the state\u2019s largest provider of workers\u2019 compensation coverage. It truly is the most dangerous time of the year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we ran these numbers we were sort of taken aback. We were trying to determine if there was a most dangerous week. Actually, the specific day of Jan. 9 is the most dangerous,\u201d said Ellen Sarvay, a Pinnacol safety consultant.<\/p>\n<p>Pinnacol Assurance has recorded an average of 198 claims on Jan. 9 for the past five years. That\u2019s 62% higher than the daily average over that time frame, making the day the most injury-prone for workers.<\/p>\n<p>The most common injuries reported on Jan. 9 are slips, trips and falls, followed by strains, and then being struck or striking something, and cuts. But it is mostly about falling.
