The acoustic rendition will appear on the upcoming <em>Is It Any Wonder? <\/em>EP. It follows last week\u2019s release of a previously unreleased version of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/david-bowie-man-who-sold-the-world-previously-unreleased-935000\/\">The Man Who Sold the World<\/a>\u201d from the six-song set. The rest of the EP\u2019s songs will arrive one at a time on a weekly basis through the next month.<\/p>\n<p>Originally appearing on Tin Machine\u2019s 1989 self-titled debut album and written by Bowie and Reeves Gabrels, \u201cI Can\u2019t Read\u201d was re-recorded by Bowie in 1996 as part of his <em>Earthling<\/em> sessions. According to a statement, it was Bowie\u2019s preferred solo version and at one point it appeared on a master version of <em>Earthling<\/em>. The song was cut in favor of \u201cThe Last Thing You Should Do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The accompanying official video was filmed by Tim Pope in January 1997 during rehearsals in Hartford, Connecticut. In the clip, a masked Bowie is seen staring into a mirror while a projection of his uncovered face sings the lyrics.<\/p>\n<p><em>Is It Any Wonder?<\/em> is one of two new Bowie releases in the works.
