Matt Healy of the 1975<\/a> appeared on Matt Wilkinson\u2019s Beats 1 radio show on Friday, and while the full interview won\u2019t air until next week (January 24th), Apple<\/a> has shared snippets from their chat, where Healy confirmed that the band won\u2019t be playing Glastonbury this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, we\u2019re not going to headline,\u201d he said. \u201c<\/span>But Glastonbury is exciting this year. I know a lot about it.\u2026 I\u2019ve heard amazing stories and amazing things, and I am going to go<\/span> as<\/span> a punter. It\u2019s going to be wicked. Maybe I\u2019ll get up and do a little acoustic set with Stone Temple [Pilots].\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Healy also confirmed that the 1975 won\u2019t be attending the Grammys next Sunday, January 26th, where their track \u201cGive Yourself a Try\u201d is nominated for Best Rock Song. \u201cWe\u2019re playing a show in Auckland [New Zealand that day]. <\/span>We\u2019re a long way away in the fire.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Wilkinson asked Healy about the band\u2019s latest single, \u201cMe and You Together Song,\u201d<\/a> from the upcoming album Notes on a Conditional Form<\/em>, due out in April<\/a>, as well as an unreleased song called \u201cGuys.\u201d Healy said \u201cGuys\u201d was a tribute to the band members\u2019 relationships with one another.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re kind of like brothers,\u201d Healy said. \u201cWe\u2019ve got a song called \u2018Girls,\u2019 and I wanted to just kind of write a song about kind of how much I loved my mates, and I wanted people to have a song that\u2019s like a love song for their mates.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 1975 have announced their upcoming 2020 tour<\/a>, kicking off April 27th in Houston. Phoebe Bridgers and Beabadoobee will open for the band on most dates.<\/p>\n
