Khalid<\/a>\u2019s Grammy week is off to a good start. The singer-songwriter was announced today as Reebok\u2019s latest celebrity ambassador, following in the footsteps of artists like Ariana Grande and Cardi B, who have both appeared in campaigns for the footwear brand.<\/p>\n

As part of the global partnership, Khalid will appear in Reebok\u2019s \u201cSport the Unexpected\u201d campaign this spring, which the brand says celebrates \u201ccreativity, experimentation and self-expression.\u201d Expect to see the ads running worldwide.<\/p>\n

No word on whether the singer will join the ranks of Kanye West, Travis Scott and Tyler the Creator, who have each created shoes with Adidas, Nike<\/a> and Converse<\/a>, respectively. Khalid appears to be wearing a version of Reebok\u2019s classic \u201cClub C 85\u201d sneakers<\/a> in the first images released from the new partnership. The brand says Khalid\u2019s campaign will be \u201cshowcasing Reebok\u2019s heritage through a contemporary lens,\u201d further hinting that the singer might not be launching a completely new silhouette, but rather promoting a current style, or one from Reebok\u2019s archives.<\/p>\n

Either way, Khalid says he\u2019s \u201camped\u201d to partner with the brand. \u201cI love how they mix old and new and honor the classics with fresh twists,\u201d he says. \u201cI hope we can inspire a new generation of people to be themselves and take creative chances.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cKhalid continues to be a beacon of originality, pride and imagination for today\u2019s rising youth,\u201d adds Matt Blonder, VP of Marketing and Digital Brand Commerce at Reebok. \u201cThrough his unique sound and a personal journey that took him across the country, Khalid authentically symbolizes our common ethos \u2013 to inspire creativity and encourage experimentation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Khalid is nominated for \u201cRecord of the Year\u201d at this weekend\u2019s Grammy Awards<\/a>, for his song, \u201cTalk\u201d (off his latest album, Free Spirit<\/em><\/a>). He celebrated the Reebok announcement today by sharing a photo of himself  playing with his dog Maui, who\u2019s decked-out in a custom Reebok doggy tracksuit. Fans can see more of Khalid\u2019s new collaboration and enter for a chance to win Reebok gear for their own pups, by heading to Reebok.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n
