{"id":803274,"date":"2020-01-21T11:04:08","date_gmt":"2020-01-21T18:04:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=939878"},"modified":"2020-01-21T11:04:08","modified_gmt":"2020-01-21T18:04:08","slug":"third-eye-blind-to-perform-at-the-roxy-in-l-a","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/music-news\/third-eye-blind-to-perform-at-the-roxy-in-l-a\/","title":{"rendered":"Third Eye Blind to Perform at the Roxy in L.A."},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/lucky-x-rs-grammy.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>Lucky Brand, the original Los Angeles denim brand, celebrates its 30th anniversary and lifetime connection to music with <em>Less Noise, More Music<\/em>, an exclusive concert event on Thursday, January 23rd from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The event takes place four days before the 2020 Grammy Awards and features a live performance by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/third-eye-blind\/\" id=\"auto-tag_third-eye-blind\" data-tag=\"third-eye-blind\">Third Eye Blind<\/a> (known for their platinum rock hits \u201cSemi-Charmed Life\u201d and \u201cHow\u2019s It Going to Be\u201d) and special guests at the Roxy, the historic nightclub in Lucky Brand\u2019s hometown of Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>This past fall, Third Eye Blind released their seventh studio album, <em>Screamer<\/em>, teaming up with friends like Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells (who sings on the title track) and Billy Corgan, who is described as the album\u2019s \u201cmusical consigliere.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have always been so insular,\u201d frontman Stephan Jenkins <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/third-eye-blind-fall-tour-screamer-872851\/\">told <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> in 2019<\/a> before embarking on their fall tour, \u201cand on <em>Screamer<\/em> we adopted an open door policy \u2014 come in, be musical, and follow the song where it takes us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI look at it as this thing that I take part in with the audience,\u201d he added. \u201cI think our audience is very young, and they take our music and they make it part of their playlists now. And they make it their present tense. And we really care about playing. It\u2019s not the same every night. We\u2019re not a jam band, but we soundcheck; soundchecks are band practice, and we move things and change them, so it\u2019s evolving.
