Stone Temple Pilots<\/a> have canceled their upcoming acoustic tour<\/a> after lead singer Jeff Gutt suffered a \u201cseverely herniated disc.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDoctors have advised immediate surgery, along with several weeks of recovery time and physical therapy,\u201d the band\u2019s reps said in a statement. \u201cGutt is expected to make a full recovery, and the band hopes to reschedule the acoustic tour later this year.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The 15-date tour was set to begin February 5th in Vancouver, British Columbia. Refunds are available at point of purchase. Stone Temple Pilots\u2019 subsequent two tours \u2014 an Australian trek with Bush and Live and a North American summer jaunt opening for Nickelback \u2014 remain on schedule.<\/span><\/p>\n

The band\u2019s tour was in support of their acoustic album Perdida<\/em>, out February 7th. The LP is Stone Temple Pilots\u2019 second with Gutt, who they hired in 2018 to succeed Scott Weiland and Chester Bennington after those singers\u2019 deaths.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an album we\u2019ve been wanting to make for quite some time,\u201d STP bassist Robert DeLeo told Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> of Perdida<\/em>, which they recorded using vintage instruments. \u201cMost of our songs start acoustically and we felt these would come across in the most genuine way if we kept them that way.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Stone Temple Pilots previously shared the single \u201cFare Thee Well<\/a>\u201d from the acoustic LP.<\/span><\/p>\n
