Ariana Grande<\/a> performed three songs off Thank U, Next <\/em>at the 2020 Grammy Awards. This is her most-nominated year yet (with five nods) and the first time she has been up for both Album of the Year and Record of the Year.<\/p>\n

Grande began the medley with \u201cImagine,\u201d performing in front of the same glowing orb from her Sweetener World Tour. A full orchestra joined her and assisted as she transitioned into \u201cMy Favorite Things\u201d from The Sound of Music<\/em>, which then morphed into \u201c7 Rings.\u201d Soon, she discarded her gown for a robe and lingerie look, moving to a pink bedroom set with her dancers. She then sang part of \u201cThank U, Next,\u201d skipping ahead to the final verse about her parents and adjusting the lyric about her dad to sing \u201cI\u2019ll be thanking my dad\/\u2019Cuz he\u2019s really awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grande\u2019s appearance at this year\u2019s ceremony follows a public spat with the show\u2019s producers<\/a> last year. Prior to winning her first Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album at last year\u2019s ceremony, Grande refused to appear at the ceremony after feeling \u201cinsulted\u201d by the producers who would not let her perform the then-just released single \u201c7 Rings.\u201d Instead, they wanted her to sing \u201cGod Is a Woman,\u201d which was up for Best Pop Solo Performance. \u201c7 Rings\u201d is nominated for both Record of the Year and Pop Solo this year.<\/p>\n

Last month, Grande wrapped her lengthy Sweetener World Tour, which was in support of both 2018\u2019s Sweetener<\/em> and 2019\u2019s Thank U, Next<\/em>. Upon completing the trek, she dropped K Bye for Now<\/em>, the tour\u2019s official live album.<\/p>\n
